Pfjeew, no bad surprises this week! Only some family visits and really pretty weather getting in the way of work, but I’ll gladly take that. As always, the week leading up to a shop update is hectic. Even though I set realistic maker’s goals, I always manage to postpone actually reaching them. So as we speak, I just finished my Salobre blanket and there’s a skein of hand dyed yarn cooling down in the dye pot. And I better write up this blogpost quickly, ’cause I’ve got a lot more to do before Wednes-shop-update-day!
FINISHING UP THAT SALOBRE BLANKET IN MY OZETTA AUTUMN SWEATER. I REALLY NEED TO GET MYSELF THE WINTER VERSION.
FINISHED OBJECTS
SALOBRE BLANKET #2
Since I’m considering adding fringe, this project isn’t quite finished yet, but I’m done listing it as a WIP. 😉 It’s blocking on a beach towel next to me at the moment. I hope it will be dry by tomorrow, so I can add the fringe and take listing photos. I’ll talk more about this blanket in a future, separate blogpost (like I do), but this was a really fun project. The yarn was a joy to work with, and while knitting, the wip-blanket kept me warm and toasty. Because believe it or not, but it’s actually getting below 20°C (68°F) around here now. 😉 Besides, it was so much fun to see my texture pattern come to life. And I can’t wait to finish and publish the pattern!

WORKS IN PROGRESS
SALOBRE BLANKET PATTERN
The Salobre blanket pattern has seen some love as well. I’m largely following the layout format of my El Tablero headband pattern, and I love how that is looking: large, pretty pictures with text overlays, and pattern instructions illustrated with smaller pictures. I’m hoping to have it finished at the beginning of the new year (doesn’t that sound awesome?). So, drop me a comment if you’re interested in test knitting.
NORDERNEY JUMPER
I did quite some rounds and pattern repeats on the body of my Norderney! The texture panel still isn’t a mindless knit for me (even though I think it should be for the more experiences chart-reader), so I have to keep the pattern with me at all times. Still, it can be done while Netflixing, since the rest of the body is just plain stockinette. Which is good. Last week, I played with the idea of finishing it for Christmas, but that’s not gonna happen haha. I’ve still got half of the body left to do, plus two sleeves. Nevermind, there will still be a lot of “Winter” time left to enjoy it when it’s finished.

COASTERS SET #1
The set of coasters I started last week has remained untouched this week. It’s probably just because I’ve got more urgent things to do for the shop update. I know I said I wanted to have a set finished for this update, but I’m afraid that’s not gonna happen. Ah well, I’ll try, and we’ll see!

GUERNSEY WRAP
Even though it’s super festive with that gold thread, I’m not gonna finish this wrap before Christmas either. Too bad, but I’ll go with New Year’s then!

SALOBRE BLANKET #1
I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get my hands on the last skein of yarn I need for this project. So I suspect this Salobre blanket will be in hibernation for quite some time.

PLANS
Today, tomorrow, and Wednesday will be all about finishing Salobre and two skeins of yarn for the shop. I’ll need to photograph them and write product listings. If I’ll get round to it, I’ll finish the set of coasters as well. After the shop update, I want to cast on my own yarn for my spaghetti strap top design, and make a lot of progress on Norderney and Guernsey. In between shop hustle, I’ve been working on my 2018 planning as well. With the help of Hanna Lisa Haferkamp’s Kick Butt in 2018 challenge. The last task of the challenge is to plan out January and I guess I’ll feel a lot better organized once I got that on paper.
