KNITTING UPDATE #27 | ALL SAN AGÚSTIN FACECLOTHS FINISHED FOR THE SHOP

Last week has been an incredibly busy one. We had some friends visiting the island and others having days off. So our week was full of good food and good parties, which has not really contributed to my knitting-productivity. Also, I’ve had to book another flight to The Netherlands (for not-so-fun reasons, unfortunately), so I’m actually writing this at the airport. My forever-zigzag-scarf project made it through security again though, so I’m sure I’ll be able to keep myself busy during my 4.5 hour flight. Anyhow, let’s review week 27!

Ah! I’m so happy to have eight San Agústin facecloths finished already! I made it my goal to finish them before July 20th, when Chain Twenty’s shop opens. These are gonna be listed first and we’ll see where things go with the shop. I think I’ll write up the pattern too, because I love the idea of having all my designs available both as physical items and as patterns. All facecloths differ slightly, and I still need to make proper product photos. I hope to show you those next week!

SAN AGÚSTIN FACECLOTHS ON REPEAT

Works in progress

Boxy sweater

No progress. No comment. 😉

Zigzag scarf

I was fortunate enough to be able to spend all of my limited knitting time at home this week. Since this is a perfect on-the-go project, I haven’t worked on it. But as I said, it’s in my hand luggage as we speak, and it’s actually the only project I’m taking to The Netherlands. So expect a lot of progress next week!

Mae tunic

Fi-nal-ly, this project is officially on the needles! I started it on Sunday and managed to finish the bottom hem. From now on, it asks for a lot of new-to-me techniques, like short rows. Therefore, I didn’t feel confident enough to take it on the plane (also because it’s on metal needles and I’m afraid they will be taken away from me). I’ll probably have to do quite some YouTube tutorialing (I just made that a verb), but that’s good, because I actually feel pretty excited about learning new things lately.

Future projects

Headband

Now that I’ve mastered the arts of designing and knitting facecloths, 😉 it is time for another small shop project. Preferably something fashion-related this time, and something that I can easily adjust to fit Chain Twenty’s minimal aesthetics. I’ve been on the lookout for patterns on Ravelry and will probably go for a headband with twist. The merino wool left over from my Long Island sweater will do to try out some designs.

Acquisitions

No new yarn again this week. However, I have to update my Ravelry page and check which patterns I wanna knit next, because now that I’m in The Netherlands, I can get my hands on the good stuff. <3

As I said, this week will be spent working on my Zigzag scarf. I’ll be back in Gran Canaria on Saturday night, so there won’t be much time to knit on anything else. Hopefully next week will be less busy, so I can focus entirely on opening the shop! 🙂 🙂 🙂
